mike kekel put together a blog post from material written by others that he used in an effort to accuse Xers of wrongdoing just because they no longer attend ntcc and have stated why they won't follow hypocrites like kekel and davis. What is sad but true is that kekel's blog post does a better job of condemning him and davis than it does of condemning Xers. Let's look at some things kekel quoted and his discussion:
"This is part 6 of the Secondary qualities (pages 41 to 81) It reveals the thinking behind people who leave and rise up against people they once revered."
Immediately following is an excerpt from practical theology class which is made up mostly of comments from non-ntcc Christians, these words are shared:
“No other man, but the retired millionaire, is such a monarch of his day as is the minister. He can read on Monday morning, or write, or walk, or mingle all three, just as he deems best. On Tuesday morning, he can attend to his correspondence, or catalogue his library, or eat the heart out of some new book, or meet a company of friends, just as he decides. The order of his going out and coming in is largely at his own discretion. Living within wide liberty is dangerous; it has spoiled thousands. He can adapt any style of preaching that he likes, he can follow whatever line of thought he chooses … and … (this) begets in certain types of men a tone of mind which says: “I am Sir Oracle, and when I open my lips, let no dog bark.” … Here is a true description of ministers not a few: ‘They love the chief places at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the market-place, and to be called of men, Rabbi."
“In the realm of parish administration, a puffed-up shepherd exhibits symptoms which have been often deplored. He resents all divergence from his opinions. Men who do not agree with him are set down as his foes. He treats them as traitors to the cause of truth. All who will not carry out his wishes have the mark of the beast. He is irritated by the least opposition. He is mortified by the failure of a single plan. Any independence of thought he considers a personal affront."
Don and Ange say,
Does this sound like anyone you know? To us all these negative traits being condemned by non-ntcc Christians are most often exhibited by the ntcc borg 'leaders' such as davis and kekel.
For example:
"No other man, but the retired millionaire, is such a monarch of his day as is the minister." "The order of his going out and coming in is largely at his own discretion."
That really describes the borg 'leaders' like davis and kekel. Who determines when they go anywhere? Or who even knows what they do all day? They sit around all day and make rules that limit you - where you can work, telling you not to seek promotion or higher education, requiring that you report how much income you make, what hours you can work, how often you have to be in church. And all the while you have no idea what they are doing, or whether or not they are even in town or just skipping service. I've seen davis lay out of church plenty of times when he was at the campground and in St. Louis. Nobody dares to say anything to him about it either because:
"(this) begets in certain types of men a tone of mind which says: “I am Sir Oracle, and when I open my lips, let no dog bark."
You know what we're talking about. Just try to raise your hand in one of those ntcc bible studies and see what happens. You will get shot down. They don't even want you to ask questions about the bible. You definitely don't want to see their reaction if you question them about there whereabouts of their spending habits. They are completely unaccountable to you. They can go where they want, spend what they want, do what they want.
But they hold the reins on your life. Your wife can't work. You can not go to school. You have to meet every church service and obligation. They know how much money you make and require you give them one tenth. But they never prove where that money goes. They are completely unaccountable to you.
Here is a true description of ministers not a few: ‘They love the chief places at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the market-place, and to be called of men, Rabbi."
Taken from the scripture, the quoted material is speaking of hypocrites who require you to save them the best seats in the church, like on the altar, or front pew, and demand you call them a title like Pastor. Hmmn. Sounding familiar yet? As if that doesn't paint a clear picture of the ntcc, this next paragraph does even more so:
“In the realm of parish administration, a puffed-up shepherd exhibits symptoms which have been often deplored. He resents all divergence from his opinions. Men who do not agree with him are set down as his foes. He treats them as traitors to the cause of truth. All who will not carry out his wishes have the mark of the beast. He is irritated by the least opposition. He is mortified by the failure of a single plan. Any independence of thought he considers a personal affront."
WOW. That so describes kekel and davis. Listen to kekel's own crazy description of anyone who no longer attends ntcc. kekel said,
"I consider them my enemies!" -- m c kekel "
HELLO!
The whole article that kekel strung together really condemns him. Of course, he tries to pitchfork his condemnation off onto the Xers, stating that the material he's quoting:
"It reveals the thinking behind people who leave and rise up against people they once revered." m c kekel, ntcc CEO
Really, mike? This entire writing screams out to that part of one's brain that houses common sense and logic. I wish that I had gone straight to the ntcc bible school and taken this bs class 27 years ago. I would have seen the ntcc leadership for the hypocrites they are and left, instead of ruining the last 27 years of my life. We think your blog smog more clearly reveals your own twisted heart thus:
"It reveals the hypocrisy of those who are highly revered towards people that leave because they disagree with ntcc doctrines!"
or, as kekel stated, "I consider them my enemies!" WOW!
