Jesus In The Temple

Matt 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, Matt 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Gal. 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Skip To Blue Letter Bible Search Tool

Cult Info

NTCC used to claim the definition of a cult was that they deny the deity of Christ.  But that definition is limited.  Many cults exist which claim to have Jesus as Lord, yet practice harmful doctrines that hurt the members. These abusive groups that masquerade as Christian Churches are actually cults that fall into a Psuedo-Christian Cult category.  They preach Christ but live hypocrisy like the double standards or two sets of rules seen within the NTCC.  They teach you to read the Bible, while demanding that you obey their rules which make the Word of God of no effect.  Their rules and doctrines supplant and supercede the Word of God!  For that reason and the abuse of members, they are cults.

Many studies have been done on brainwashing and mind control as these techniques can be used to control people or force them to do things that normally they would not do.  Here are some links to help you understand these processes.  Do you see these tools at work in your church?  What will be the result of such methods?  Knowledge is power.  Feel free to educate and arm yourself by comparing these techniques with the word of God and His commandment:

How To Build A Cult

Do you want money from devoted adoring followers?  Here is a step-by-step instructional video that tells you how to build a cult.  It also helps you recognize if someone else is using you to build his or her own cult.

My friends and I are reasonable and intelligent human beings who allowed ourselves to be completely taken by the ntcc cult. How did this happen? We look at one aspect of the cult indoctrination process:

How To Tell If You're In A Cult [In 30 Seconds] Video Link

Other clues you are in a cult:

When you don't allow friends from one church to have contact with friends from another church, you are a cult. When you dictate to people whom they are allowed to love, you are a cult. When it is a sin to buy and wear a t-shirt but they suck every dime out of you for tithe and offerings you are in a cult. When you are constantly held down and belittled for success because the leadership does not want you to be more successful then themselves, you are in a cult. When every facet of your life is under strict control, and there is no biblical reasoning then you are in a cult. kekel knows that ntcc is a cult and that his positions on these views are indefensible, and this is why ntcc'rs are not allowed to visit our blogs or be our facebook friends or have any fellowship with us. We are considered reprobates, apostates and infidels but all we are doing is exposing ntcc for being a cult. If they can make us out to be horrific then people will not be exposed to the truth that we are telling them about ntcc. If ntcc were not a cult then we would not have a compelling argument. If somebody can come on this blog and biblically support these positions then I will stop blogging about it but until then we will be here to shout it from the roof tops.  --  Copied and Pasted from the "Comments" page on the thread "The Love Of Money" ntcc Xer blog.

You may recognize your church is in trouble by watching the leader.  Does the leader encourage you to follow Christ or follow him / her?  Does the life of your church leader mirror the life of Christ? Or does he / she have a personal agenda? Look for the tell-tale signs that you may be following a man or woman more than you are following Christ.

The most subtle thing about otherwise normal, reasonable, intelligent, sincerely believing individuals finding themselves lured into cult-like behavior is this:

NO PERSON in Christian ministry EVER sets out to make one!

Including Davis. They ALL begin with the same sincere desire to minister for Christ to the good of others. Therefore, it is their very sincerity which captivates and lures the believer. Even as they themselves will say so many times, "You can be sincere, and sincerely wrong!"

The subtelty thus is in exactly how an otherwise decent, sincere believing person heads down the road of cultism.

Davis defines a cult as any doctrine or group that denies the divinity of Jesus as Christ. That is true. That is an anti-christ. (1 John 2:22)

But there are PRACTICAL ways of denying Jesus' divinity while yet believing Jesus to be the very Christ indeed. Insofar that one can effectively deny Jesus' Lordship, and even cut off Jesus' Headship, over His people and body of believers. And instead of Him, the Cult Leader can become the false lord and head of his own church and organizational body.

And that road begins with the first steps of teaching commandments of men for doctrine of God (Matthew 15:9)(Mark 7:7)(Col 2:18-23)

I.e. Real cultishness begins with ADDING to the Word of God your own rules as though they are the commandments of the Lord.

Hence, if you BELIEVE their added rules are indeed Law of Christ, then YOU are in fact believing and obeying that ministerial leader AS God and Christ Himself. His personal word has become God's Word for you!

This is why the nobler Christians do not allow themselves to become the cult followers of false ministers:

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, AND searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." (Acts 17:11)

And so we see that sincereity - readiness of mind - zeal for the ministry is the first characteristic of faith in Jesus, BUT faithfulness to the Scriptures, as they are written, is necessary to know your faith is not in vain!

Therefore, since Paul welcomed Scriptural scrutiny and challenges of his own words and message of God, then how much more so ought we today? And with ALL the will and authority of God to do so.

Scriptural dispute of what we believe and say and teach is NOT unedifying debate to be avoided and rebuked, but rather IS every believer AND minister's Biblic duty for the defense of the faith and Jesus' gospel...

Remember, there can be no Cult Leader, if there is no obedient Cult Follower.

We were taught that our “Pastor,” was an Apostle. That as he preached he literally spoke by the Holy Ghost, and that he never missed God’s [will]. That Jesus Christ came to him in person, and commissioned him to build this church organization, starting with a bible college. We were told that our pastor had seen angels, and that God had performed many miracles through his hands. That the “organization(s)” were the only “Real” move of God, and that our church was God’s last church, before the rapture. We were taught to honor the pastor with gifts, to obey him, and fear him, as we obeyed and feared God. To disobey him, was to bring God’s judgement upon you. To leave the “church” organization was to leave God. And, that once you left, your only chance to serve God, was to return to that church, before it was too late. To visit with former members who had departed, for any reason, was to be a Judas, or a Benedict Arnold. If someone's spouse quit coming to church, they were told that the brother or sister who remained, “with God’” was free to divorce the spouse, and remarry “in the church.”
The next guy in line to the founder “pastor,” constantly made references to the founders words, even giving dates and times of his utterances, and tieing them to some biblical precept, or doctrine, or teaching.
We had to ask his permission to ask a girl, “from our church” to date or to correspond, and to marry. We were told who we could not date. We were told who we could or could not bring to a bible convention. We were told who we could not perform a marriage ceremony for, Ordered not to, ie, One was white, and the other was black.
They kept meticulous records of attendance, church, and other events, tithe records, pledges, etc. We would be challenged by one of the church stooges if we forgot to put $1.00 in our tithing envelope, or offering pledge, etc. We were told that we were not a Christian if we didn’t pay 10% of our gross income. We were told that it was theft not to pay tithe, and that God robbers go to hell. We had to fill out forms to inform the church office where we worked, how much an hour we were paid, etc. We could not work on any job that infringed upon any church activity, even surprise activities. We could not be 30 seconds late for church, bible class, etc. or we would be rebuked openly, and if we were a student in the Seminary, we would lose that entire semester of classes, and forfeit the funds paid for those classes. We were taught holiness, or hell. That we had to dress a certain way, look a certain way, and act a certain way, most of them had no scriptural foundation. We were told that the internet, was really the sinner-net, and that only people who wanted porn, and filth went to the internet. We were told that social media sites, would cause us all to leave our spouses, and live in sin, and go to hell. We were ordered to remove people who had left the group from our social contacts. We were ordered not to read derogatory information about our group, etc, and were told that to do so was rebellion, which is the sin of witchcraft. Those who dressed in tattered clothes or who were homeless, were not followed up on, and those who had either invited them to church, or had picked them up, were discouraged from returning to visit, or bring them again to church. We were instructed to dress in very fashionable styles, so most of the ladies of the church would buy clothes at the Goodwill, or other Thrift stores. The founder would often mock these stores by calling them Cooke Stores. We were told the the KJV of the bible was the only true word of God, and that all others had compromised the truth. We were told that the church was a theocracy. I could go on and on about this group, we were told that a “cult” was a church that denied the Deity of Christ, but the actions of our leaders, and how it affected us made us all Pharisees, and Hypocrites, Whited Tomb, and un worthy of the Prince of Life who died in our place, on a cruel and horrible cross.

This is one of the best comments ever left on this blog. It also is a perfect description of the ntcc and it's hierarchy. It is truly a shame what the ntcc has done. They have taken something that could have been wonderful and could have been awesome, and they have corrupted it, beyond measure. The things that you spoke of in this comment are 100% true and they are very telling of what the ntcc is all about.
