Jesus In The Temple

Matt 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, Matt 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Gal. 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Skip To Blue Letter Bible Search Tool

Letters from the Past III

Recently, my Stepfather sent me a package with a bunch of paperwork from the past.  While my Mom was alive she kept all of my important documents and some not-so important ones.  In the midst of important documents like my birth certificate, certificate of Baptism, report cards and many other nostalgic items, was a graded essay that I wrote in Junior High School.  Here is a photo of me during that time in my life.

This is the oldest sampling of anything that I ever wrote.  This post has absolutely nothing to do with the ntcc; but we decided to post it anyway; after all, it's our blog; and we can do what we want.  At the time that I wrote this classic document, I went by my Step Father's last name, so the name on the essay is Donald Bolden.  By clicking into the images, the writing can be zoomed in on for better clarity.

My teacher whose identity escapes me, must not have had dangling participle college training.  Looking back on this, it almost sounds like I was raised in the ntcc.  I was quite the male chauvinist at that age.  But now that I've become a man, I've put away childish things, and have a lot more respect for women.   The Borg leaders never learned this lesson; because they still talk about women the way I did when I was 13.

Now Women are striving to compete in the NFL.

Several years ago there was a woman who decided that she wanted to try out in the NBA. The press was there with the usual drama,write-ups etc.. adnauseum. They were writing on how good she was doing, how she had a good chance of making the team. If they would have been any sweeter to her there would have been a worldwide critical shortage of insulin. Anyway, what had been happening was that the guys were going easy on her. All that changed whenever they realized that THEIR positions and careers were in jeopardy if they didn't start working harder.

She didn't last long after that........

Lol, Mark. Good stuff as usual. Not sure if we'll ever see women in professional Hockey, Baseball, Basketball or Football, but it would be interesting if they made the NASCAR drivers allow their wives to ride shotgun during the races. That would increase ratings. People would watch just to see the crashes.

Women are getting stronger and faster. Not sure if mixing them into men's competition would work but if they can compete with men in golf or bowling or even Baseball, I say let them play. I don't think that a woman's body can hold up to the punishment dished out in the NFL. Maybe a punter or a kicker, but any other position is doubtful.
