I Have A Name Part 3 - Highlights From The Comments Section

One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other!
There were some important topics that have been shared in the comments of the last blog post; and there are other things that we don't want to get lost in the comments section; so we are doing this blog post as a refresher for what we have learned.  We appreciate Julie's willingness to share.  So many people are afraid to share because they have been convinced through much brainwashing that they are 'gossiping' or they are speaking against 'the Man of Gawd'.  However, these same folks that are brainwashed do not hold these so called preachers to the same standards.  We also want to share what Julie wrote about salvation so that the ntcc transgressors and the victims of abuse will know that they too can find God's Grace.  Here are a few topics:

1.  Gym class:

"Like when he (Kekel) tried to explain sports I thought how dumb can you be. I didn't get a "F" in gym for failing to dress for P.E. for nothing."

Many kids in the ntcc had their childhoods robbed from them.  They were expected to present a note from their parents to the gym teacher stating that it was against their religious beliefs to wear lascivious gym clothing.  Many have shared how this made their children feel like outcasts and how they grew up feeling like dorks because they were expected to wear clothing from the 19th Century.

Not Grant Kekel.  He ushered in a whole new era in the ntcc.  He was not only allowed to wear shorts but he also was allowed to participate in sports activities which had been frowned upon and preached against.  His extra curricular sports activities were so important to Tanya and Mike that they allowed him to wear lascivious football pants and miss church services.  They raised him as a sinner by their own standards; but they don't care.  When Grant finishes law school he'll return as a prodigal son; and one day he will be the one making and breaking the rules in the ntcc.

While Taking A Break From Keeping Us Safe, These Troops Have Fun Playing Football

2.  Sports at Servicemen's Homes:

"Servicemen's homes got in trouble if they even had anything that related to sports on the property. I know I lived in servicemen's homes."

Many can attest to this.  I've seen Davis pull up in his Recreational Vehicle for fellowship meetings and jack up the preacher for allowing members to play volleyball or football.  Many have testified that they were not allowed to have any type of sporting events or picnics or BBQ's at servicemen's homes.  When Davis came around we were all expected to act super spiritual with our bibles and sit in a room while nobody said a word.  How awkward is that?

Not at Kekel's house.  At the 2009 4th of July bash we have pictures of ministers playing basketball, foosball and volleyball.  Can you say hypocrite?  Kekel threw Davis under the bus to justify his own rebellion to the rules.

Poor Grant Kekel! All Those DVD's He Watched On The 'Gaming Monitor' Must Have Robbed Him Of Salvation.

3.  TV and the "Devil Vision"

"They tried to explain away the fact that they had TVs. Oh Julie that is something new in recent years. No it isn't I found their secret TVs a long time ago as a kid.  I found Davis' TV in St. Louis back in lets see 79 or 80 but yet he left his last church since they decided to allow the devil-vision. Hmmmmm.  I was playing hide and go seek in his house when I found it. Yes it was hooked up. You should have seen that trying to be explained and yes I got in trouble for going to the area it was kept."

There you have it.  Long before many of us heard our first sermon against the evil "Devil Vision" we find that Davis had one hooked up and was watching it.  You have to wonder what he was watching. Porn?  I mean what could be so important to watch that he would hide a TV in his house and suffer a young girl to get in trouble for finding it?  If it's not a sin, you don't hide it and jack up a young child for finding it.  I doubt that he was just watching the news on it.  We all heard the stories how Davis left the COG's because they were 'compromising' and had 'Devil Visions'.  Ministers in the ntcc were not allowed to have TV's but here we see the big hypocrite Davis making rules that apply to everyone but himself.   Kekel and Kinson would later follow in Davis's footsteps and usher in the computer "Gaming Monitor" and DVD era.  Bunch of heathen.

Poof!  You Now Look Like You Are Of Legal Age To Marry That Older Preacher!

4.  Tanya and the Pentecostal 'Poof':

"Oh your comments make me think of the poofing the front of women's hair. I remember they said It was important for women to look older so minister's wives wouldn't be looked down upon for being so young.

So having a 14 yr old poof their hair is going to gain more respect no that just gained more guys looking at them. It does no good trying to make a 16 or 20 year old look like their 35. It is like an 85 year old trying to dress like a 15. It looks insane and for those that have trouble poofing their hair it makes them look stupid. So I look my age or younger then let me do a happy dance.

It also makes me think of the big deal about knowing a minister's age is such a bad deal. Well if you know the minister is 23 and he says something stupid then you can chalk it up to his age. If you think the 23 year old is 35 then you think worse of him then you would if you knew his age.

I will never forget the day I had to start poofing my hair. I was 14 years old. I had already been wearing pantyhose and high heels since 11 years old. Tanya Kekel came over and took me up to the sttic in the Lakewood house which was my room. She sat me down and without warning began poofing my hair. I began to cry for I didn't want the hair do. I was told I would get the belt if I didn't stop and go forward with a willing attitude. I feared who would be giving it so I numbed the pain away. (My father or Kekel) The next month I was told who I was going to date and eventual marry.

As far as hair pieces many many women wear them in the borg. There is so much to say."

This is disturbing on so many levels.  It exposes the culture of what kind of expectations exist in a child's life growing up in the ntcc.  It's no wonder that so many of the kids that grew up in the ntcc, now want nothing to do with this cult. It seems like Tanya was on a power trip of her own and was extremely cruel and manipulative towards Julie.  Under fear of getting the belt from either Kekel or her Dad she forced back tears and endured the humiliation.  The ntcc is a freak show.  No child should ever have to suffer like this.  This should be mandatory reading for every member and minister of the ntcc freak show.  I would think that if this information were made public to all the members of the ntcc, that at least half of them would leave.  The half that still has a heart.  Do you people actually realize how sick you are?  Is this a healthy Christian environment in which kids should be raised?   I thought my 'sinner childhood' was bad.  I would take what I went through growing up as a 'sinner' a hundred times over what these sick hypocrites are doing to children in the ntcc.

Matching Clothing With Accessories Is Almost As Important As
Matching Young Girls With Older Men In The NTCC
5.  Ntcc treating young girls like objects:

"How many remember how your purse had to match your shoes. If it didn't people's lives would be destroy.

Okay who didn't match their purse and shoes? I remember the first time I was brave enough not to match. I thought it was really going to kill me or hurt someone. Ihad no idea others had been doing it for years. People outside the group thought I was crazy but that was all I knew.

I can't count how many times I forgot something in another purse. I would be humilated because I was told if I wasn't so dumb/retarded I would forget to put things from one purse to another. How hard can that be?

Now it is said that was never a rule. Well I am here to say I got in trouble by Davis himself for failure to match."

This is another example of the CULTure inside the ntcc.  As you all can see by now, Julie is not stupid or retarded.  In fact she is a very bright and intelligent woman who has a whole lot of courage and is willing to share her experiences to help other people.  She was treated as less than a human being, and yet she has a message of love and forgiveness and salvation for all.  Rather than choosing to be bitter and angry, she has chosen to share God's word with all who read this. Many of you claim to believe in the bible; so don't get mad at her for sharing what is on her heart.  You should be ashamed rather of the people in the ntcc who you hold in high esteem who are living contrary to the words which you claim to believe. You don't have to follow the blind anymore.  You can be a Christian outside of the ntcc.

Grace and Mercy For All!

Julie shares:

As this New Year begins I don’t know where you are at in your journey. You may be at a point of hopeless. Well I want to offer you hope. You may say there is no hope for me Julie. If you are reading this there is hope for YOU!!
I don’t care how low you have gone you can still go to the top. My heart has cried to the Lord for you this morning. You say you don’t know me. How could you have prayed for me? I prayed for every hurting soul that reads this and God knows your name.

Spiritual abuse can be one of the hardest abuses to recover from because though people can blame God for any abuse, God is more attached to spiritual abuse in people’s mind like no other form of abuse.
You may say I am so mad at God. I have a dog and there has been times I haven’t seen her I step back ending up stepping on her paw. She will make a noise but yet in her unconditional love she wants to still love on me. That is awesome thing about God is he has the unconditional love just like my dog.
You can hate God and he will still love you. I John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

You may be sinking as you read this. It may feel like quick sand to you but I want to offer this to you.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28-29
You say that is nice but you don’t know what I have done. I am so shame of being stupid to fall for things I did. I preached to people in a way I feel so guilty for it. Julie, I have said and done things I can’t even bring myself to mention. God has something to say to you.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18

Though the error of your ways seems great, God still says he can wash them clean. You don’t have to carry the burden of your mistakes anymore.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled. In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight. Colossians 1:21-22

When you repent you become once again “Holy, blameless as you stand before your Heavenly Father without a single fault.
We have a very patient God that lovely waits for us to come to him. He will be there whenever you are ready.

I think of a line from a movie that goes like this “ Yous kind, Yous smart, Yous important”. I know it isn’t good English but you are important to God don’t ever forget it.

May this be truly a New Year for you and a good one too!

Hugs,
Julie

  1. As I read through this blog post it is alarming on so many levels. I know that many people will look at this and think that it's just more of the same. So many have become complacent and accepted this as normal. Others may think we are over reacting. I guess we've seen everything under the sun when it comes to scandals in the ntcc.

I wonder what it would take for people in the ntcc to wake up. "Those bitter X-ers are just so filled with hate". It's too bad we are not making this stuff up. I wish it were all make believe and that none of it ever happened. I could think of nothing better than to wake up tomorrow and find out that it was all just a bad dream.

I guess most people just chalk it up as a very expensive learning experience and get on with their lives. After all there is no point in trying to prevent what happened to them from happening to other people. Nobody will ever listen, right? Well, we are still here, praying and listening. If you are out there and having trouble coping with what you went through while you were in the cult, try sharing your testimony. If you don't feel comfortable leaving your name in public, you can comment anonymously. You might help someone that suffered the same things that you suffered. Anyway, we are here to listen and we won't condemn anyone for what they went through.

  2. So, you are sitting in "church" on a Thursday night. The real reason you are there is not about being fed from the Word, the Lord's table, or even fellowshipping with and/or ministering to the saints. You are there because "it is the right thing to do." You have thought about leaving NTCC, but where will you go?
You don't want to go to that other church down the street because you will go from "All Christians pay tithe and give in the offering" to "Tithe Rap" (http://youtu.be/OgiJS4ZWm64). There is that independent fundamentalist KJV only church, but they make NTCC look like Laodicea (http://www.tominthebox.net/2007/04/bob-jones-university-starts-thyspace.html).
Here are some questions you can ask if wish to interview some churches:
    1. What is man's biggest problem?
    2. What must a man do to inherit eternal life?
    3. How do you deliver the salvation message?
    4. How hard is it to become a Christian?
    5. How often do you talk about sin, righteousness and judgment? (Balance is key. This should not be the only emphasis, but it should be a regular
    emphasis.)
    6. How seeker sensitive is your church?
    7. Who do you do church for, seekers or members?
    8. Do you dumb down your sermons?
    9. What is your mixture of topical vs. expository preaching?
    10. Do your sermons emphasize theology or are they relevant?
    11. Describe your youth programs.
    12. Describe your evangelism programs.
    13. What church growth model do you follow?
    14. How much do you give to missions and the hungry?
    15. Do you believe the Bible contains no errors or contradictions?
    16. Do you believe in a literal 6 day creation?
    17. Do you believe in a literal hell and eternal punishment?
    18. When you distribute the Lord's Supper, do you emphasize the need to examine
    yourself?
    19. Can a person who is living in a persistent lifestyle of sin inherit eternal life?
    20. Does your church exercise church discipline?
    21. Do Sunday school teachers, nursery, and youth volunteers fill out an application to
answer questions about their core beliefs, or are all volunteers accepted?
    22. What are the essentials of the faith?

These questions will help you find good church to be part of. When you leave NTCC, you need to be part of a local church. Yes, you have wounds and you need healing. It is amongst the local congregation that you can be reminded the most important thing: http://youtu.be/qJZrmqPwKCM

  3. A tv in his basement? I know and saw the basement at 224 Hazel in Webster Groves. Now it is a parking lot. How appropriate.... but the idea is revealing. We sacrificed all for them, but that was never enough. I am glad many escaped the perils of that group.

Yes they don't fed you....well nothing but garbage. It is like going to the garbage can filling your plate with garbage pretending to enjoy it while you eat it. Or worse putting a little garbage in your cake mix an still calling it an edible cake.

    Thanks for your comments.

What happened to you does matter? Please share even if under a different name. There are many that need to hear what every pain you have to share. You are important part of getting out what this group is all about. No matter if your story was 1 day or 20 plus years.

A tv hidden away from accusing eyes. Yes a parking lot is very fitting. Sacrificing our physical, emotional, and spiritual selves for no good in return. I agree I am too glad many have been freed from the borg and pray that they can also be healed from all the abuse they suffered.

  7. Okay. I thought the Tithe Rap video was very funny. Unfortunately I believe they are really trying to get that 10% from people. smh

  8. This article about "Bob Jones University Starts ThySpace For Students" [Click Here] was ALARMING.

Nothing shouts CULT louder than isolationism, censorship, monitoring, and relationship manipulation:

Bob Jones reportedly said of the secular model, MySpace, "We just cannot let our students have access to such a website without monitoring them, and checking up on everything they are writing and posting."

If that isn't enough to remind you of the NTCC CULTure, check out these other Bob Jones quotes:

"We're here to show the world that we at Bob Jones University can be old fashioned and yet use new things."

"But we're not going to compromise though. We're here to stand in the gap and show the world how Christians should live."

    *cough* *cough*

Just give them 20 to 40 years and we'll see about all that. From our NTCC eXperience, we know that the more rigid the controls, the more sin being hidden behind the cloak of holiness!

  10. In the blog post, Julie had shared, "It also makes me think of the big deal about knowing a minister's age is such a bad deal"

I still say they try to hide their age for only one reason:

THE NTCC 'LEADERS' KNOW NORMAL PEOPLE WOULD FREAK OUT IF THEY KNEW THAT NTCC MARRIES OFF 16 YEAR OLD GIRLS, TO TWENTY PLUS YEAR OLD MEN.

To me THAT is THE REAL REASON THEY TRY SO HARD TO HIDE THEIR AGES! People can do the math you freaks! And why do you think they keep these girls so uneducated or under-educated? I believe they are trying to lock them into this CULTure and make it impossible for these girls to escape. How would they survive? How could they find work? They would have no money if they left; because they have no money while they are there. Their husband controls all the finances and often most of it goes to the NTCC with little left for necessities like food and toiletries. If you were in NTCC, you know what I mean. So what would such a girl do to escape this cult?

Mothers, I hope you are reading this blog and considering your children.

It is no accident that the families with pre-teen and barely pubescent girls wind up back in Washington where the girls are expected to age up and be dangled before the desperate single brothers.

If you were a single brother who refused to lower the standard and hook up with a young teenie bopper through the NTCC match-making-meat-market, I commend you.

For the rest of you... shaking my head (smh) What were you thinking Dude? Shame. Shame. Shame. Get real. That's just nasty. "Dating" a little girl when you are supposedly a grown man and holiness preacher to boot? No way. Jail Bait. Straight up Jail Bait.

    Ange says,

I still get angry when I read this:

Tanya Kekel came over and took me up to the sttic in the Lakewood house which was my room. She sat me down and without warning began poofing my hair.

I get the sense that this was a violent action. In my mind I picture tanya grabbing Julie by the wrist and dragging her to the attic and raking a fine toothed comb or brush up and down through Julie's beautiful naturally curly hair.

Folks, some hair is not meant to be worn as a poof!

And, frankly, poofing has nothing to do with God or holiness or even looking a certain age. All of that is cult nonsense.

But what really gets me is that this was tanya davis kekel hurting Julie!

    Just read what she wrote:

I began to cry for I didn't want the hair do. I was told I would get the belt if I didn't stop and go forward with a willing attitude. I feared who would be giving it so I numbed the pain away. (My father or Kekel)

"I began to cry" and "I numbed the pain away."

    ??? !!! ???

What kind of evil wicked cruel creature is tanya davis kekel to be doing this to this young girl, Julie???

It still makes me mad. I can picture snotty tanya threatening Julie:

"I was told I would get the belt if I didn't stop and go forward with a willing attitude. I feared who would be giving it so I numbed the pain away. (My father or Kekel)"

Really? You're going to whip some little girl with a belt because you have hurt and forced her and made her cry in fear??? And all of that so that you can age-her-up and pimp her out and prostitute her to some older men???

    SICK! SICK! SICK!

You are a den of devils and demons and backbiting brute beasts.

All I can say is this:

Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

    And another chapter 18 verse:

Revelation 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

May God do so and more to that great city Babylon that we know as NTCC along with its wicked leaders!
